おそらくJava 7で動作しないmaven warプラグインのバージョンが使用されていますか？あたりとしてこの問題（同様の問題を説明し）、2.1.1Mavenの戦争プラグインのバージョンが動作するはずです。

私はバージョンが問題だとは思わない。ターゲットフォルダの削除（webapp-cache.xmlが含まれているため）とMavenのインストールをやり直して解決しました。

これは間違いなく、互換性のないプラグイン、ライブラリ、言語バージョンに関連しているようです。

2年後には2つのJavaバージョンがあり、SpringとHibernateの古い本からサンプルプロジェクトをやっている間も同じエラーが発生しました。

私はapache.maven.pluginsのすべてのバージョンタグをコメントアウトし、Javaバージョンを1.8に設定することでエラーを解決できました。これは、ライブラリの最新かつ最高のバージョンが何であったかを知ることができます.Mavenからのバージョンタグの欠落についての警告があります。警告が気になる場合は、バージョンタグを最新バージョンに設定することができ、Mavenからの警告は消えるはずです。

私は実行mvn clean packageしてからちょうどmvn package。

ビルドパスがjdk 1.7とソースタグの "1.6"を指していたので、ソースタグのバージョンを1.7に修正して問題が解決しました。

mnv cleanとmvnパッケージを実行します。

私にとっては、プラグインのバージョンを変更するとproblmeを解決することができず、JDKのバージョンを変更することは私のコントロールではありません。

しかし、この問題mvn cleanをmvn tomcat6:deploy解決する前に実行していた。
